The Jiu-Jitsu started in the Association Meninos do Morumbi in 1997 brought by the four times world champion Fábio Gurgel with the purpose to pass to our pupils the balance that this practice provides and other benefits such as the increase of self-esteem, self-control and confidence.

The lessons are given by the teachers Cezar Takeoshi Ikehara and Fábio Passos, under the coordination of Fábio Gurgel that also gives lessons on Fridays. Two hundred pupils practice Jiu- Jistsu regularly, using kimonos and on mattes, that offers security to the pupils.

In 2003 the Association Meninos do Morumbi received the important support from the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation to develop and to stimulate the practice of the sport.
